I feel like if we knew even a bit of the future, we would be too paralyzed to do anything. For instance, if I had known on Tuesday that Wednesday and Thursday I would be hauling hay, I probably wouldn’t have run a track workout and gone to spend an hour in a swampy sailboat cabin. But, this week I did all of the above, and I survived, and I’ll be that much stronger and heat-resilient next week to show for it.
This week I…
Monday: Did a number of adult-y paperwork items and revisited the Friendship Database
Tuesday: Ran a track workout and visited our 30’ sailboat to make a game plan for cleaning out its bilge (p.s.: Wanna buy a sailboat?)
Wednesday: Loaded and delivered a load of hay and got to pet a horse and take a good look at the damage on the big tedder
Thursday: Watercolor painting, car mechanic appointment, and another load of hay
Friday: Groceries, yoga, lunch date with a friend, and picking up C early from daycare because Friday. Yoga included a sound bath, which I had never done before — during the final pose (shavasana, lit. “corpse pose,” the one where you lie on the ground and be still) the instructor played a variety of singing bowls and it was magic. I’ll be doing my best to make it back this week.
Next week I have some light yardwork to do, C is home from daycare on Thursday for Juneteenth, and I am going to take a day to clean the sailboat bilge. I’m optimistic that this can be done in one long day. Wish me luck. Until then,
